There are a number of objectives, which the Qualifying Year Program aims to achieve for both male and female deaf and hard-of-hearing students:-

1. Enabling deaf and hard-of-hearing students to proceed their education at KSU.
2. Developing deaf and hard-of-hearing students' Arabic reading and writing skills.
3. Qualify deaf and hard-of-hearing students to enroll in Preparatory Year at KSU.
4. Preparing deaf and hard-of-hearing students to integrate in university environment.
5. Accommodating university environment to support the integration of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
6. Provision of supportive services, for example; sign language interpreters, note takers, supportive services specialists, psychologist and sociologist specialists, and other special services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
