The Program Objectives
The Higher Education Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students aims at:
- Developing language skills of deaf and hard-of-hearing persons.
- Preparation of human resources capable of professional sign language interpretation.
- Preparation of human resources capable of presenting suitable supportive services to deaf and hard-of-hearing.
- Preparation of human resources ( vocalization – Administrative ) capable of dealing with deaf and hard-of-hearing persons.
- The Training and qualifying of personnel working with deaf and hard-of-hearing persons (in-service), according to the latest scientific directions in this field.
- Organizing the field of sign language interpretation in verifying the qualifications of sign language interpreters (issuing a license for sign language interpreters).
- Conducting national projects and studies related to the education, training and qualifying deaf and hard-of-hearing persons and those working with them.
- Collaborating with regional and international entities of interest in deaf and hard-of-hearing persons.
- To be a scientific professional consultant reference in the field of working with deaf and hard-of-hearing persons and those of relation in the society.
- Raise society awareness of deaf and hard-of-hearing persons and their abilities, characteristics, needs, and how to deal with hearing impaired.
